Integration Course Dates

All courses take place from Monday to Friday, in the morning, in the afternoon or in the evening.

Integration Courses

The integration course comprises 700 teaching units, including 600 TU of language course and 100 TU of orientation course.  In the language course you learn the German language with everyday topics such as shopping, living, children, media, leisure, school and work or visits to the doctor. After the language course you take the orientation course. Here you will learn a lot about politics, society and culture as well as the recent history of Germany.

Integration courses are state-funded. Direct online booking is not possible here. All dates and information can be found in the relevant sections of this page. 

Who can take part in an integration course?

Who may participate...:

Immigrants,

Germans with a migration background,

EU citizens

possibly asylum seekers in the asylum procedure and tolerated persons.

You need a certificate of entitlement.

You get this:

From the immigration office. In this case you are obliged to take part in the course.

If you are not obliged to do so, you can submit an application to the BAMF.

The job center can also issue a certificate of entitlement.

Costs

One lesson costs 2.29 Euros. A general integration course with 700 hours of instruction costs a maximum of 1,603 Euros. If you have successfully completed the course, you can get 50% of the course fee back. Do you receive unemployment benefits or social assistance? Please bring your current benefit notification with you. We apply for a cost exemption for you. Then the course is free for you.

 

Placement test

The placement test is compulsory. This means that you have to take a placement test after registering at the Hartnackschule.

Final exam

After the language course, you will take the “German test for immigrants” (DTZ). After passing the exam, you will receive a certificate. The orientation course ends with the final test "Living in Germany". This test is also considered a naturalization test.

Have you already taken the exam? You will receive your DTZ results from the service office after four weeks.

We will inform you by email about the arrival of the results of the "Living in Germany" exam. The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) provides information on the status of the corrections HERE.
